18/08/2013   Moscow under the eyes of the judges

Here in numerical terms the technical work of the jury of Moscow. Some may agree, some less, and others certainly not, but for Marcia Italian it was good.

In statistical terms were issued 122 red cards in the total of three races: 80 for loss of contact (65.6%) and 42 for bent knee (34.4%), and more than the half  of the letter (23 red cards) in the race of 50 km.

The distribution of the red cards in the three races is indicated in the following table

The work of the judges are not only focused on the "repression" because as "prevention" were shown to the athletes during the three races well 394 yellow paddles.

Even in yellow paddles the possible technical error to be followed to which reference is made better (note: the contrary to what happens in Italy) is that of loss of contact with yellow paddles 246 (62.4%), while the bent knee contributes with 148 yellow paddles(37.6%)

The split of yellow paddles in the three races took is indicated in the following table.

Other interesting points:

Compared to Daegu 2011, where they had been DQ a total of 22 athletes representing 15.8% of the participants who had been 139, in Moscow there was a significant decrease in the percentage of DQ limited to 17 athletes in the total of three races and equal to 9.1% of the 187 participants.

No red cards has been issued for disqualification without first having shown the athlete the yellow paddle, giving him the opportunity to correct.

Very interesting is the following table that shows the percentage of athletes who have received at least one red cards and those totally clean also of yellow paddles, compared to the number of athletes participating.

This statistic makes the sense of the good degree of consistency obtained in these three races.
