06/01/2015   Russia vs China: 20 km donne/women

Although in 2014 new athletes from other countriesare rising with some success: Ukraine with Lyudmila Olyanovska, Italy with Eleonora Anna Giorgi and Antonella Palmisano, Spain with Julia Takacs and Raquel Gonzales, Czech Republic wuth Aneszka Drahotova and Portugal with the proven quartet of Ana Cabecinha, Inez Henriques, Vera Santos and the veteran Susana Feitor, the results of the last years of  female racew walking clearly say that global leadership is a deal between two countries: Russia and China.

We wanted to analyze a little deeper this leadership going to look like the best athletes of 2014 of Russia and China behaved, in head to head races.

For Russia we considered Anisya Kirdyapkina and Vera Sokolova (we did not want to consider the young Elmira Alembekova) in head to head races with the two top athletes of China in 2014: Liu Hong and Lu Xiuzhi.

The result is quite surprising from Anisya Kirdyapkina and Liu Hong in perfect tie, while Liu Hong has the better on Vera Sokolova

But we did not stop here.

We also wanted to analyze the direct matches between the current top athletes of China and the two previous leaders of Russia: Olga Kaniskina (now retired from racing) and Yelena Lashmanova (who is now banned for doping).
In this case there is no history: the two Russian won all direct matches with both Liu Hong Lu Xiuzhi.
