On January 11, the 1st Tokyo Gakugei University Race Walking Meeting was held in Koganei city, Tokyo, Japan.
There were six events (men 3000m Walk, men 5000m Walk, 10000m Walk, women 3000m Walk, women 5000m Walk, women 10000m Walk) and 87 athletes took part in the trials.
This meeting is the first race walking meeting on the track in 2015 so the winners of the races are the first world leader of this new season.
Tomohiro Noda participated in three events in a day and won the all events.
He walked at 12:39.5 in 3000mW, 41:26.3 in 10000mW, and 19:59.22 in 5000mW. Yuki Ito marked 20:01.13 in 5000mW after 10000mW (43:13.0).
In women’s events, Ayako Fukuda marked 13:50.9 in 3000mW, Kana Kimura marked 25:56.84 in 5000mW, Yuka Sakurai marked 49:43.9. Both Kimura and Sakurai are junior athletes.
