In San Lorenzo al Mare (Imperia) was held yesterday a race-test unofficial for Chinese athletes in training from early December in Italy.

The Far-East team, coached by Sandro Damilano, consists this year of two men in the 20 km (Wang Zhen, Olympic bronze medalist, and Cai Zelin, silver in the last World Cup); two women in the same distance (Liu Hong repeatedly winning medals at World’s and Qieyang Shenjie, bronze in London) and four athletes in the 50 Km (Li Jianbo, seventh in London; Zhang Lin, eighth in Taicang; Wang Zhendong, bronze at the last Asian Games and Yu Wei, Chinese champion in charge).

The group after this month of training in Liguria will be engaged on February 8 in the first round of the Frigerio Tpphy in Genoa and then continue training in Saluzzo until the first week of March.

On 20 and 22 March in Beijing, on the course of the next World Cup in August, there will be the selection races for the final decision of the Chinese team.

These are the results of the racing-test took place on the bike path that will host the Team time trial of the next Tour of Italy:
