01/02/2015   Federico Tontodonati Italian champion of 50 km

In late 1960 early 1970 Giuseppe Sciuto was one of the young Sicilian walkers in vogue at the moment.

Unfortunately his meteor has not sailed for very long time in the Italian firmament of race walking.

Today Giuseppe Sciuto came up again to Italian race walking as the organiser of Italian championships of 50 km and the Winter Trophy 2015.

Italian Championship of 50 km men

The shortage of athletes at the start is the host.
Many prefer the participation in the trial of 30 km Trophy Winter Race walk, which will be discussed later.

Federico Tontodonati won the title with a time of 3:55:09 (World Best performance in 2015) in front of Andrea Agrusti (U23) in 4:09:11 and Michele Antonelli (U23) in 4:16:21.

Only four athletes carry out the test.

Winter Trophy of Race Walking

30 km men

As previously indicated here the starters are 12, also included the participants at 50 km.
Amazes the absence justified as "a precaution" at the last moment by Giorgio Rubino, who had already announced his plans to do a test on the 30 km.

Massimo Stano wins the race in 2:16:03 in front of Alessandro Maltoni (U23) in 2:17:59 and Lorenzo Dessi (2:24:23).
The time obtained by Massimo Stano is more or less in line (at 30 km) with that obtained Saturday, January 31, 2015 in Rio Maior (POR) by the Portuguese Pedro Isidro in their test on the distance of 35km: 2:40:55.

Be noted that Federico Tontodonati in his trial on 50 km had pointed out the split time to 30 km (2:18:47) where it had been in third place.
The same had happened to Andrea Agrusti (30 km in 2:34:45 - 6th) and Michele Antonelli (2:43:51 - 10th).
