Yohann Diniz failed yesterday in the National Indoor Meeting of Mondeville (FRA) to break the world record on the distance of 5.000m  indoor walk of 18:07:08, held since 1995 by the Russian Mikhail Shchennikov.

The European Champion of the 50 km won the race with the time of 18:39.92 (which in any case represents today the world's best performance on the distance), in front Arnaud Sizorn (22:13.90) and Cedric Le Page (24:15.96).
