Were held today in Padova the two race walking events valid for the Italian Indoor Championships in Athletics.
3.000m indoor women
Absent Eleonora Anna Giorgi all the favors of the eve go to Antonella Palmisano.
And Antonella Palmisano immediately go to lead followed by Valentina Trapletti.
Palmisano has no problem to manage the race and also from the technical point of view her walk is always nice to see.
These are the split times: 1,000m in 4:04:6 - 2,000m in 8:06.1
Behind Palmisano and Trapletti, who seem to have already monopolized the first two steps of the podium, is starting the fight for bronze between Federica Curiazzi and Sibilla Di Vincenzo, battle that will last for about nine minutes, when Sibilla Di Vincenzo will be disqualified for irregular walk.
There are no other notes worthy of some sort, if not the order of arrival.
Antonella Palmisano wins in 12:05.68, which, if today in some other part of the world there is no one to have done better, is the world's best performance over the distance (previous Cabecinha Ana - 11: 17.93 - Pombal, the POR 14.2 .2015).
In second place Valentina Trapletti in 12: 35.55 (personal best)
In a final thriller, crosses the finish line in third place Federica Curiazzi in 13:11:10 (would be the personal best), but was disqualified after the arrival for a sum of offence. Similarly happensto Mariavittoria Becchetti; both see the red paddle of the Chief Judge at 15:27.
The bronze goes then to Nicole Colombi in 13: 53.98.
"I'm not fully satisfied because I wanted to go below 12 minutes and instead I stopped at 5 seconds ... I just have a little bitter taste. In Albuquerque (New Mexico, United States) I worked very well but in recent days I have taken the flu and unfortunately I could not complete the training program. For this reason I still lack something, but I try again these 3,000 meters next year !." are the words of Antonella Palmisano after the race.
5.000m Indoor men
Even in this race absent the Italian Champion of 2014, Matteo Giupponi.
Immediately leads Massimo Stano, followed by Federico Tontodonati, Marco De Luca and Leonardo Dei Tos, passing the first 1,000m in 3:48.70.
At 2.000, always Stano leads (7:41.0) tailed by Tontodonati while for third place Dei Tos passed De Luca.
Towards the 10’ of the race Massimo Stano force the pace and divided the group, but shortly after both Tontodonati and Dei Tos are back with him. It makes the cost only Marco De Luca.
Eight laps to go and Dei Tos force again (split at 3.000m in 11:29.8) and leaves on place both Stano and Tontodonati.
Continues to lead Leonardo Dei Tos (split at 4.000m in 15:24.2), before Tontodonati and Stano, and he has no problems to win the race in a time of 19:16:34 time which should be up today the third world performance of the year after the time of Diniz (18:39.92) and the greek Papamikhail (19:11:07).
(ndr: is the fourth because yesterday in Lithuania a Klaipeda Marius Ziuikas obtained the time of 19:14.82)
Second place to Massimo Stano in 19:22.62
Bronzevto Federico Tontodonati in 19:26.94.
Marco De Luca fourth in 19:29.54
Ten starters including seven arrived and three DQ.
