27/02/2015   Victories of Alembekova in 1:24:47 and Ivanov in 1:20:06






Results of world level today in Sochi for the National Championships of Russia.
Interesting to nota is that races of younger age groups were conducted with the use of new Pit Lane rule.
 
 
20km men
 
The victory went to Alexander Ivanov in 1:20:06.
Ivanov led the group throughout the race increasing more and more his lead.
For the second and third place a strong fight between Andrei Krivov and Petr Trofimov, with Krivov which prevailed in 1:20:43, while Trofimov finished in 1:20:53.
 
In fourth place in 1:21:04 Denis Strelkov
 
 
20 km Women
 
The most striking result of the day is the one of Elmira Alembekova who set a new world record in 1:24:47, but will not be ratified for the absence of the three international judges required by the IAAF.
 
From the start the athletes are walking with a very fast pace led by Marina Pandakova that remained in the lead up almost half race.
Then Elmira Alembekova began to force the pace and had no difficulty in winning.
 
Silver to  Marina Pandakova in 1:25.03, while the bronze went to Svetlana Vasilyeva in 1:25:04.
Fourth place in Vera Sokolova ending the race in 1:25:38.

Then revolutionized the current world list of 20 km women, who now sees six Russian athletes in the top six.

Interesting to note that Tatyana Mineyeva, returning to a major competition after the banned period for doping arrived 9th in 1:32:21.

 

35 km men

 

World Championship silver medalist in Moscow, Mikhail Ryzhov became the champion with a score of 2:25:54. improving the personal best. 

Another silver medalist, but European Championships in Zurich, Ivan Noskov arrived second in 2:27:21. Third place tothe U23 Sergei Sharypov in 2:29:33 who much improved his personal best. 

Fouth place to Roman Evstifiev who finished in 2:29:54 improving the personal best by six seconds.
