In the context of the Chinese Race Walking Championships, last weekend, we are presenting, in preview, the race walking circuit of next World Championships in Beijing 2015.
We suggest a preview.
20 km men and women
The races of 20 km will take place on a circuit of 1,000 (500m. go & back), completely in asphalt that takes place on the opposite side of the Olympic Stadium to the one where the Olympic Games were held along the Hujing East Road.
The sides of the circuit are lined with weeping willows which suggests that in the summer the foliage will do a little shadow to the athletes.
During the World Championships walking races of 20 km will start inside the stadium with the following development:
Departure: 40 meters before the finish line (photo 1)
Three full laps of the track: totaling 1.200 meters
On the track and in the tunnel exit North East and on the circuit: 397 meters (photos 3 - 4)
Total before entering the circuit: 1.637 meters
18 laps of the distance of 1 km: 18.000 meters
From circuit through the door North East on the track and then to the arrival as usual: 363 meters of which about 175 on track, the other in the tunnel (photo 2).
Grand Total: 20,000 meters.
Diameter turn around:
Turn around South East (near the refreshment area): diameter of 10.6 meters (photo 5)
Turn around North East: diameter 7.6 meters
50 km
The races of 50 km will take place on a circuit of 2000 (1.000m. go & back), completely in asphalt that takes place on the opposite side of the Olympic Stadium to the one where the Olympic Games were held along the Hujing East Road and continues (for the completion of the 2000 meter) for about 85 meters along the National Stadium South Road.
During the World Championships race walking of 50 km will start inside the stadium with the following development:
Departure: 40 meters before the finish line
Three full laps of the track: totaling 1.200 meters
On the track and in the tunnel exit North East and on the circuit: 397 meters
Total before entering the circuit: 1.637 meters
24 laps of the course of 2 km: 48.000 meters
From circuit through the door North East on the track and then to the arrival as usual: 363 meters of which about 175 on track, the other in the tunnel.
Grand total: 50,000 meters
Diameter turn around:
South turn around (turn around natural): about 10 meters of road (photos 6 - 7)
North East turn around: diameter 8 meters (photos 9 - 10)
