Really strange !

Not enough to have won an Olympic medal and finishing third in the other two, and fourth in the last participation, then collected two gold medals at the World Championships in Athletics and two silver in the World Cup and European Championships; is not enough to appear in the "Walk of Fame", inaugurated yesterday the walk along the Avenue of the Olympics at the Foro Italico in Rome, with 100 plates of athletes who have brought honor to the sport in Italian history !

Smacks of a improvident forgetting that the name of Maurizio Damilano, because the other names of Italian walker who won gold at the Olympic Games are almost all: Ugo Frigerio, Giuseppe Dordoni, Abdon Pamich.

It was missing only Maurizio Damilano, Ivano Brugnetti, also with an Olympic victory and a World Championship, and, perhaps for the known reasons in recent months, that of Alex Schwazer.

We understand that the choice is not definitive and that there will be regular updates, but we like to remember that on the wall of the Hall of Honor of the FIDAL among the names of those who won the Olympic title, those of the walkers follow one another to show that the history of athletics in Italy, has always gone hand in hand with that of the race walk.

Forget it would be like not to remember our own identity !
