31/05/2015   Cuenca (ECU) - Gold and Silver to Peru in male, victory of Ecuador in female






Cuenca lived a final of the race of 10.000m track walk entirely Peruvian in the second day of the 41th edition of the Youth South American Championship of Athletics.

 

Both races were held with the new "Pit Lane Rule" that will also be adopted at the next World Championships U18 in Cali, Colombia.

 

 


 

 

 

10.000m track walk U19 men

 

They are presented with two Peruvians in the lead in the last straight, Cesar Rodriguez and Paulo Yurivilca trying both to fight over victory for the gold medal.

In the stands of the stadium dedicated to Jefferson Perez the Peruvian delegation was immediately divided between supporters of the two teammates.

 

In a deafening noise, even though the race was early morning, the victory went to Cesar Rodriguez with a time of 43:18.4, while Paulo Yurivilca obtained silver divided by teammate by just five hundredths of a second (for him 43:04.23).

 

The bronze goes to the Ecuadorian Morocho Braulio Pizarro Stalin ending in 44.15.83.

 

A small note: at the head of the race walking jury was Fausto Mendoza historian first coach of Jefferson Perez.

 

 

10.000m track walk U19 women

 

The long-awaited victory in race walk for Ecuador came in the women's race.

 
Among the two favorite of the eve, Stefany Mildred Coronado Gemio (BOL) and Karla Jhohana Jaramillo Navarrete (ECU), the victory went without much trouble to the latter that prevailed on Bolivian with a time of 48:43.94.
Stefano Coronado has instead took the silver with a time of 49: 50.74.
The bronze went to another Bolivian Odets Rosele Huanca Rasguido in 51: 24.89.
