There are in progress to the stadium Atletico Videna at Lima in Peru the South Americans Championships in Athletics.

 

The two race walk races take place on the distance of 20.000m in track.

In a morning of heavy rain, the victory went to the Peruvian Pavel Ivar Chihuan Camayo with a time of 1:23:34 which is a new national record of Peru, being the entry standard for both the next World Championships in Beijing in 2015 and for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, 2016.

 

The athlete coached by Alfredo Quispe has prevailed on Argentinian Juan Manuel Cano who got the silver in 1:23:56.

The bronze went to Maurizio Arteaga that with a time of 1:24:18 preceded the other athlete of Peru, Paolo Yurivilca Calderon that ended the race, the latest, in 1:26:27.

 

Daniel Pintado (ECU) got the time the n1: 25:25, off the charts .

 

Of the 10 athletes at the start only five have finished the race; DNF 3 and 2 DQ.

The victory went to the Colombian Sandra Arenas with a time of 1:31:03. She had no difficulty, after the disqualification is Erica de Sena (BRA), who come back to race after the very good event past saturday in La Coruna (three red cards for bent knee), and Gabriela Kimberly Garcia Leon (PER) to win the race with a good lead on the second classified: the teammate Ingrid Hernandez (1:36:43).
The result obtained by Sandra Arenas is the new South Ametican record on the track distance (previous of the same athlete in 1:31:47 obtained in Santiago Cile on March 13, 2014).
The record of 20 km road walk is of Erica de Sena (1:29:37) established in Dudince on March 21, 2015.
 
The bronze went to the Bolivian Angela Castro in 1:41:39 that preceded the Panamanian Gissela Rodriguez ranked fourth and final in 1: 54.08.
 
Of the seven athletes at the start four have completed the race three were DQ.
Besides Erica de Sena and Kimberly Gabriela Garcia Leon also Jessica Hamco Merma (PER) suffered the same fate.
