In Turin, the first title of the Italian Championships 2015 speaks Turin. The Italian champion of the 10km walk is, in fact, Federico Tontodonati. The 25 year-old of Piemonte still coached by his father Mauro, has completed the race in 40:36, one of his best time in the career of this distance.
The walker of CUS Torino beginning heeled to Giorgio Rubino who starred as the frontman of the race in the first kilometers (splits: 3:57.6 at 1000m - 8:00.8 at 2000m). The Roman athlete, however, around half race must raise the white flag for a sick (respiratory distress) and leaves the scene without being able to defend until the end the tricolor jersey won in 2014 in Rovereto.
From here on out is a solo of Tontodonati transiting to 5000 meters in 20:07.4 tand closing the last 1000 in 4:06. At the entrance of the Primo Nebiolo Stadium, cheering is all for him as well as along the entire route.
Second place went to the Venetian Leonardo Dei Tos (Athletic Club 96) in 41:16 in front of Massimo Stano (41:42).
For tha athlete of Puglia of the Fiamme Oro today comes another medal: is the bronze of Europeans Under 23 in Tampere, 2013 that he was awarded after the cancellation of the results of the Russian Bogatyrev, finished in the antidoping network. A silver instead, tonight is on the neck of Marco De Luca (Fiamme Gialle, today fifth in 42:20) and is the one of the European Cup in 2011.
