10.000m rack walk women
Eleven at the start and immediately go to lead who was considered by all the favorite, Stefany Coronado (BOL)
Just after the first four rounds ringed at a rate of 1:39, 1:42, 1:43, 1:46 the Bolivian athlete has a good advantage (almost 12") on the most viable opponent, the Ecuadorian Karka Johana Jaramillo: 6:52.03 for Coronado and 7:11:84 for Jaramillo.
Follow close behind two athletes of Colombia Daniela Ferrnanda Pastran (7:16.88) and Yudy Alejandra Hernandez (7:17:06).
Stefany Coronado passes to 5.000m around 22:50 while Karla Johana Jaramillo around 23:30.
Unless collapses the race already has its winner and also the silver appears to be assigned.
Coronado continues the second part of the race with a pace around 1:55-1: 57 for round and has no difficulty to win in 47:11.05 breaking the record of the Colombian Sandra Arenas set in 2011 of 48:15.78.
Silver to Karla Johana Jaramillo in 47:47.61, while the third place the Colombian Daniela Fernanda Pastran has the better of compatriot Yudy Alejandra Hernandez (49:27:88).
They are only eight at the start.
Go to lead the race one of the favorites Cesar Rodriguez (PER) that after the first lap in 1:43, immediately force the pace and put together a series of tours around 1:36-1:38.
Follow him Diego Fernando Cuellar (COL) and Brayan Alberto Fuentes (COL) in addition to teammate Paulo Yurivilca (PER).
The pace set by Cesar Rodriguez creates technical problems to Brayan Alberto Fuentes that shortly after the third kilometer is disqualified.
The group at half race is headed always by the Peruvian covering the distance around 20:32; after about ten seconds is Paul Yurivilca and then the Colombian Diego Fernando Cuellar.
Cesar Rodriguez is now walking towards a pace of 1:40-1:42 each lap and the distance that separates him from Paul Yurivilca has no signs of decline.
Sixth km is covered by: Rodriguez (24:49.72), Yurivilca (25: 09:49), Cuellar (25:21:22).
The walk of Yurivilca however not convinced the jury that just before the seventh km disqualifies him.
At this point what looked like a battle between the two home Peruvian athletes, turns into a solo of Cesar Rodriguez who continues on his pace of 1:43-1:45-1:47 per lap and goes to win in 42:12.81 a good time, but far from the championship record of Jefferson Perez of 1993 (39:50.73)
The silver goes to Diego Fernando Cuellar (COL) in 43:04.31 in front of Oscar Armando Menjivar (ESA) in 44:31.74.
