10 Km Elite men

 

Immediately after the start goes to lead the group the Chinese Luo Yadong together with the Russian Petr Trofimov.

There follows a group with the best athletes: Wang Zhen, Evan Dunfee, the other Chinese Liu Meng, the Colombian Eider Arevalo, the Australian Dane Bird-Smith, the Ukrainians Nazar Kovalenko, Ivan Losev, Igor Glavav and Sergii Budza and the other Russian Kirill Frolov.

 

After the first part of the uphill the situation is more fluid, and in the leading group the best athletes try to time to go in the head. Wang Zhen and Eider Arevalo are in the middle of the group pending events.

 

Toward the seventh km in a slight downhill increase the pace the chinese Liu Meng, but is immediately catched by others. We arrive into the final part where Luo Yadong and Dane Bird-Smith force again the pace and gain a couple of meters on Eider Arevalo, Wang Zhen and Evan Dunfee. The arrival see together Luo Yadong and Dane Bird-Smith, but the chinese will be penalized with 30" in the final sprint, and the same happens to Eider Arevalo that comes third.

10 km Elite women

 

Immediately go to lead the pair formed from Chinese Qieyang Shenjie and the Ukrainian Lyudmyla Olyanovska in turn followed by Lithuanian Brigita Virbalyte and other Chinese Mao Yanxue, Wang Yingliu and the other  Ukrainian Nadiya Borovska.

Then follow Russian Nadezhda Sergeeva and Hungarian Viktoria Madarasz.

 

Until 7th km the duo is together, shortly after today will be the Ukrainian to force the pace for the victory on the bronze of London.
