Andrés Chocho will receives the medal "Vicente Tamariz" by the Sports Federation of Azuay during the solemn occasion of their 91th anniversary.

 

Each year, the federal entity presents this award to the best senior athlete of the province, which has been successful in official championships.

 

In addition to the Olympic standards, Andrés Choco won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada and was eighth place at the World Championship in Beijing 50km race walk, where with 3:46:00 he broke the South American record.

 

Two weeks after competing in China, he began preparing the Olympic year with the recovery work.

His first race was in the United States, the previous month. He walked the 10km in 41:15, a sign that has left very good sensations. The next meeting will be in Chihuahua, Mexico, in March.

 

The technical and the biomechanics survey of 2015 with the Spanish José Marín ended last Tuesday.

The second round will begin on December 8 for a second period of 15 days.

Chocho said to be happy with the results and hopes to arrive in optimal conditions to Rio.
