09/12/2015   World list Women - first 20 athletes U18 - 5.000m track walk and 5km road walk - year 2015

We continue the annual publication of the lists provided with the support of the archive of "All-Athletics.com", with the following:

world list - 10.000m track walk U18 girls

limited to the first 20 athletes of the year, but of which we have considered all the performances obtained.

In addition, to facilitate the reading of our followers, we have immediately compared with the

world list - 10km road walk U18 girls

There are no Italian athletes in the top 20 of the list, as the first Italian, Anthea Mirabello with her time of 24:33.26 obtained in Milan (ITA) on June 20, 2015 is in 41th position.

Moreover Anthea Mirabello, in the road race with a time of 24:08 obtained in Podebrady (CZE) on April 11, 2015, is just in 29th place.

Leads the track list the Australian Jemima Montag (even if obtained in a mixed race) with the performance of 22:04.29 oobtained in Brisbane (AUS), last June 14, 2015.

Second is Yana Smerdova (RUS) with the performance of of 22:17.05 and Olga Yeliseyeva (RUS), with the performance of 22:10.90 both obtained in Saransk (RUS) on August 08, 2015.

Surprisingly enter in the ranking the Ethiopian Ayalnesh Dejene (third in Cali in 22:48.25) and the Puerto Rican Rachelle De Orbeta (Year of Birth: 2000), respectively sixth and tenth.

The road list is essentially a mixture of races in Beijing on March 20, 2015 (Grand Prix and selection for the World Championships in Beijing on the same race course) and Kobe on February 15, 2015 (Japanese National Championships) to which is added that  of Sochi (RUS) of February 28, 2015.

It looks for another very strange that in the ranking of the IAAF the performances obtained in Sochi (RUS) are considered "on track", while in other sites seem to be obtained "on road".

We have chosen to follow the ranking of the IAAF regarding the track, but we also left the same performance in the ranking "on road" to facilitate any comparison to our readers.

Leads the road list the Chinese Ke Xue (which is 11th in the ranking on track) with a time of 22:05 obtained with the victory obtained in Beijing Grand Prix.

In the same race were obtained third and fourth performance of the list by Liuling Yang (22:31) and Jie Ni (22:38) that would become respectively the second and third if the performance  of 22:13 by Yana Smerdova (Sochi Feb. 28,2015) proves to have been obtained in a race on track.

We must add for completeness that appear in the track list are the only Chinese athletes who participated in the World Youth Championships in Cali: Zhenxia Ma (winning in 22:41.08) and Ke Xue (fourth in 23:01.64). it seems very strange that it has its explanation in the fact that in Fuzhou (CHN) at the First Chinese Youth Games U18 also have covered the distance on track of 10,000m, with eight athletes under the 47:00 and other six in under 48:00.

Only twelve countries appear in the top 20 list of U18.

The table below shows the numbers
