The president of FIDAL Alfio Giomi yesterday morning paid tribute to Annarita Sidoti.

Seven months after the death of the World and European Champion, president Giomi met in San Giorgio di Gioiosa Marea, the husband of Annarita Sidoti, Dr. Pietro Strino and three children Federico, Edoardo and Alberto.

The meeting, strongly backed by the same president Giomi took place on the waterfront of St. George, where Annarita usually trained daily. 

Just this very important road artery as soon as possible, will be entitled to the walker of Gioiosa Mare.

Awaiting the president of FIDAL, in addition to the family Strino, also prof. Salvatore Coletta, coach and great friend of Annarita Sidoti, prof. Gaspare Polizzi President FIDAL Sicily and Sicilian historical figure of athletics and prof. Andrea D'Andrea provincial president of FIDAL.

President Giomi (arrived in Gioiosa Marea with the president of FIDAL Catania, Davide Bandieramonte), then visited together with the Mayor of Gioiosa Eduardo Spinella to the cemetery of St. George to pay tribute to the champion.

Pietro Strino asked president Giomi to name the future national championship of race walking to  Annarita Sidoti.

By FIDAL President came immediate agreement to this proposal that will be formalized shortly.
