Best Lithuanian athletes of Track and Field of 2015 were announced race walker Brigita Virbalyte and discus thrower Andrius Gudzius.
Best female of the year of Track and Field Brigita Virbalyte wasn't public's favourite: according to fans votes, race walker was in 4th position but the Board of Track and Field and sport journalists have given her the first position.
Brigita Virbalyte took the highest - 7th place among all Lithuanian Track and Field's team in World Championships in Beijing, bettering her PB on 20 km and setting 10 km National record.
"I outbided everyone's, and most important mine's expectations in 2015. I could have only dreamt about being in Top 8 best race walkers of the world", B. Virbalyte said. It's hard to forecast how will Olympic games will occur to me but I'm dreaming about bettering my PB which would guarantee me a high position in Rio de Janeiro".
