The Technical Superintendent of Brazilian Confederation of Athletics, Martinho Nobre dos Santos, informed yesterday evening that the Brazilian athlete Hiago Pereira Garcia was suspended for four years as consequence of use of doping.

On July 1, 2015, the athlete was found positive during a test carried out by the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (Rusada) in Moscow on the occasion of University Sports Championships.

The prohibited substance found in the urine samples of Hiago Pereira Garcia is the "Fronterol and Peroxisome".

The athlete who has accepted the disqualification will return to compete on June 30, 2019
