Saturday in Vilnius was held Lithuanian race walking indoors championships.

3.000m indoor track walk women

Brigita Virbalytė-Dimsiene retained her Champion's title with result on 3000 m of 12:20.77, which is the leading result in the world for this day.

"It's very difficult to walk indoors in Vilnius. Because of Lithuanian championships many walkers gathered here today so I had to overtake lots of them and on turns even walk on the second lane. I wanted to cover all kilometers evenly, not to force myself too much. I let Neringa Aidietyte lead the way but the pace was a little too slow for me. But I'm content with my result", said Brigita Virbalyte

Neringa Aidietyte finished second and improved her PB by 12 seconds  (12:34.51)

Third finished 19 years old Zivile Vaiciukeviciute with national record of 19-year old's.

5.000m indoor track walk men

Victory by Marius Ziukas - 19:33.72. But he wasn't happy with his performance.

"I don't want to get into details but I don't feel fully recovered. I didn't expect good result today, I was keeping myself behind the backs of other walkers and was trying to do my best. I didn't have a good preparation for this race but by will and experience in succeeded to win. I didn't do well in my trainings so I wasn't expecting a good result. I exceeded my expectations with today's result", said M. Ziukas.

Second place to Marius Savelskis  in 19:37.99 in front of Artur Mastianica in 20:14:26.
