Week end of Italian Indoor Championships for U20 and U23 in Ancona
3.000m indoor walk U20 Women
The victory went to Giada Francesca Ciabini in 14:18.05 in front of Giulia Panconi (14: 18:27) and Lydia Barcella ending the race in 14: 23.74.
The race was held with the Pit Lane Rule which this year is also in force for the U20.
Fifteen athletes at the start and all have completed the race.
5.000m indoor walk U23 Men
Eight at the start and immediately the race shows a different degree of interest than the previous one.
Alternating in the lead Gianluca Picchiottino, Michele Antonelli and Gregorio Angelini.
The jury, with the IAAF Judge José Dias, host to Ancona for a convention, immediately send three red cada aganst Daniele Todisco which is the first to be disqualified.
Towards mid-race to suffer the same consequences is the new Italian Champion in 50km Michele Antonelli, who probably haven't recovered in one week the fatigue.
Remain to fight for the victory and Gianluca Picchiottino and Gregorio Angelini. In the meantime Ester in medals area Alberto Zaupa.
First to cross the finish line is Gianluca Picchiottino, in 20:52.70.
Second is Gregorio Angelini, however, he was soon disqualified: the third "red card" to a temporary problem in the computer system, comes when the athlete has already crossed the line.
Silver to Alberto Zaupa who takes the silver in 22:03:34.
The bronze goes to Massimiliano Cortinovis in 22:13.88
3.000m indoor walk U23 Women
Twelve at the stat and immediately goes to lead Mariavittoria Becchetti followed by Eleonora Dominici and Nicole Colombi.
Split time at 1000m is 4:19.7 and Becchetti who leads the group also passed the 2,000m in 8:39.6, but against him two "red cards".
To fight for the podium aganst Becchetti are Dominici and Colombi alternating in second place.
After eleven minutes of the race Mariavittoria Becchetti is disqualified and with her suffered the same fate Sara Scipioni.
Won the gold Nicole Colombi, with a good finish in 13:19.12 Eleonora Dominici (13:18:22).
Third is Giulia Imbesi in 14:34.10.
5.000m indoor walk U20 Men
Twelve at tue start.
Immediately to to lead Giacomo Brandi and Niccolò Coppini, followed by Ettore Grillo.
Split times are the following:
- 1000m in 4:20.9
- 2000m in 8:39.4
- 3000m in 12:55.4
- 4000m in 17:11.0
Lorenzo Grossi and Ettore Grillo received three red cards and enter in Pit Lane Area.
After the penalty GLorenzo Gross will complete the race in last place in 25:43.23
Ettore Grillo instead after the exit from Pit Lane Area will be later disqualified as consequence the fourth red card.
Giacomo Brandi wins in 21:15.73 to the delight of his coach Carlo Mattioli.
Silver to Niccolò Coppini in 21:44.64, and bronze to Marco Morotti in 22:11.63.
