The All Russia Athletics Federation has announced a lifetime ban for Viktor Chegin following his involvement in doping
Russian race walking coach Viktor Chegin has been handed a lifetime ban, the All Russia Athletics Federation announced yesterday Friday, March 25.
Chegin was suspended last July.
The All Russia Athletics Federation stated that Chegin’s life ban came into force on February 17, 2016.
“Viktor Chegin is not allowed to participate in any capacity in international and national competitions,” read the Russian athletics federation statement.
“The application of sanctions suggests ban any activity in the field of physical culture and sports as a coach, teacher, manager, agent, technical staff of the team, official, medical, paramedical personnel, or in any other capacity, expected to work with the athlete, the organisation of the training process, health care or assist the athlete in preparing and participating in sports. These restrictions apply to all sports and sports institutions.”
