The men race has revived the old challenge between Vito Minei and Francesco Fortunato. Puglia both, both born in 1994, have dueled since the youth categories in both national team and in the club event. Minei last year was the fourth in Tallin, U23 European Championships, and after a period of recovery from an injury, returned to competition a month ago with a sixth place in Cassino 20 km. Fortunato, which in 2016 broke the personal best on the 20km at 1:22:57 and won the overall title of the 5000 national indoor and second place in the 20 km, has already selected for the IAAF World Team Championships in Rome on 7 and 8 May. Today Theynd apre separatevi by 10 seconds, with Minei crossing the finish line in 41:02.94 in front of the adversary (41:12.81). On the podium also another under23, Gianluca Picchiottino in 44:35.94, while at the foot of the podium Alessandro Maltoni in 45:17:14.
The women's race saw the victory of the national indoor silver medalist Ilaria Galli (50:00) in front of Ilaria Mariotti (51:35) and Sara Scipioni (53:27).
Absent Nicole Colombi, while being disqualified one of the favorites, Eleonora Dominici.
The 10,000 women U20 see the return of the Olympic Youth Bronze Noemi Stella, with the new jersey of the Carabinieri instead of the Athletics Don Milani: she won in absolute solitude in 48:09, by far the best female time of the day. The second place is for Marianna Terrone in 54:40 in front of Lidia Barcella (55:49).
Among the male U20 wins again Ettore Grillo (47:48) in front of Attilio Trapasso (48:26) and Stefano Cicalò (48:39).
A few days of Podebrady international meeting are back to race the twin Anthea and Angelica Mirabello, finished in the order on 5000m U18 girls: 24:23:41 to Anthea and 24:40.04 for Angelica. Third Alessandra Lentini in 25:45.47.
Male vicory for Nicolas Fanelli (46:22:21) in front of Alfonso Alberga (47:48.10) and Luca Magistri (48:07.88).
