16/05/2016   Rio de Janeiro: Erica de Sena wins Iberoamerican Championships 2016






The women's walk race of Ibero-American Championships was held over a distance of 10,000m track.

 

Although on the eve there was no doubt about who would be the winner, there has been a good race

 

Up to 2,000m leaser of the race was the Spanish Maria Peres who passed the 1,000m in 4:31.88 and 2,000m in 8:58.60.

 

Immediately after Erica de Sena has imposed her pace with the following split times:

- 3,000m: in 13:22.77

- 4.000m: in 17:45.80

- 5.000m. in 22:10:42

- 6,000m: in 26:36.50

- 7,000m: in 31:07:55

- 8.000m: in 38:45.52

- 9.000m: in 40:30.62

 

Erica de Sena, with personal  best on the distance of 43:41.30 registered in San Paulo (BRA) on Aug. 01, 2014, then won the gold with a time of 45:01:32.

 

Second place to Maria Perez (ESP) in 45:31.83, with personal  best on the distance of 44:19.05 established in Eskilstuna (SWE) on Apr. 16, 2015.

 

Bronze to the Portuguese Daniela Cardoso with the new personal best in 46:03:44 (previous 47:47.04 established in Leiria - POR on Mar 1, 2015).

 

Fourth and last athlete arrived the other Brazilian Liliane Priscilla Barbosa in 49:42.42, alsoto the personal best (previous 53:40.4 established in Brasilia on Apr. 27, 2013).
