In the Russian news agency website “Lenta” late yesterday appeared the first rumors, still to be confirmed, of the names of 14 Russian athletes suspected of doping at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on the basis of the re-examined tests.

The list would include Mariya Abakumova (javelin throw, silver medal of the 2008 Games), Inga Abitova (women's 10,000 meters), Denis Alexeev (running the 400 meters bronze in the relay), Ekaterina Volkova (running the 3,000-meter steeplechase, bronze), Hope Evstyukhina (weightlifting-bronze), Anastasia Kapachinskaya (running the 400 meters, silver in the relay), Alexander Kornilov (rowing), Denis Nizhegorodov (50 km race walk, bronze), Alexander Pogorelov (decathlon), Tatiana Firova (running the 400 meters, silver in the relay), Julia Chermoshanskaya (running 4x100 metres gold in the relay), Anna Chicherova (high jump, bronze), Maria Shainova, (weightlifting, silver), Ivan Yushkov (shot put).

If the news were to be confirmed the bronze medal in the 50 km road walk should be assigned to Jesus Angel Garcia Bragado (ESP) who had finished fourth in 3:44:08 at the age of 39 years.
