Working morning to the organizers of the 30th edition of Cantones de La Coruna.
At 11.30 in the auditorium of the ONCE Foundation, where among other things is located the photographic exhibition of thirty years, it held the press conference of presentation of the race.
Simple but comprehensive saw the presence of the President of the LOC and the Galician Federation of Athletics, Isidoro Hornillos, doing the honors and thanking the local authorities present. After him the creator of the race of Cantones, Sergio Vasquez 80 years brought good, he remembered with a brilliant clarity the reasons of his choice at that time.
In subsequent speeches the representatives of municipalities have also guaranteed the maintenance in future years of Cantones, that from the edition of this year will be called Cantones Sergio Vasquez in honor precisely of their creator.
The press conference was attended by the presence of the London 2012 Olympic Champion in the 50km, Jared Tallent (AUS), by the 20 km recordwoman Liu Hong (CHN), obtained last year in La Coruna, with the whole Chinese team present in La Coruna: Wang Zhen, Cai Zelin, and Qieyang Shenjie.
They were then invited to take the floor Sandro Damilano, world-renowned race walking coach, Nicola Maggio, International race walking Judge and Luis Saladie, member of the IAAF Walking Committee. They remembered with touching words about their experiences and memories of those thirty years.
The leitmotif was the one who almost thirty years ago, the creator Sergio Vasquez said to one of them: "La Coruna es tu casa" (La Coruna is tour home)
