20/06/2016   Denis Nizhegorodov and Svetlana Vasilyeva have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport






It ends at the Court of Arbitration for Sport's the IAAF decision to disqualify the Athletics Russian team involved in the affair of state doping, excluding it from the next Olympics.
 
IAAF opted for an iron fist, by a decision of 24 members of the Council, but Russian athletes do not fit.
 
After the controversy of the authorities in Moscow, here are the first official position and are those of the walkers.
 
Walkers Denis Nizhegorodov and Svetlana Vasilyeva, in fact, announced that they have appealed to the CAS to defend their right to participate in the Rio Games.
 
We remeber that in the re-testing of the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008, Denis Nizhegorodov at first was found positive and seemed destined to lose the bronze medal in favor of Jesus-Angel Garcia (ESP).
It was required the analysis  of B sample which instead gave negative results and the news cause quite a stir.
 
Svetlana Vasilyeva this year obtained in Sochi in Russian Winter Championships on February 27 the time of 1:27.58 that represents her third performance ever on the distance of 20km road walk, after the personal best of 1:25.05 (always got in Sochi on February 27, 2015) and that of 1:26:31 obtained in Murcia on May 17, /2015 in the European Cup when she won the bronze.
Svetlana Vasilyeva has in her palmares the gold at the U23 European Championships in Tampere (1:30:07 obtained on July 10, 2013).
