This weekend were also held in Angers (FRA) the French Championships.
Unlike other Countries, France has chosen to make the Championships on the distance of 5.000m on track for both men and women.
5.000m track walk men
At the start, there are all the best names of French race walk, from Yohann Diniz to Kevin Campion, from Antonin Boyez tp the young Jean Blancheteau.
The first 1,000 is just past that Yohann Diniz abandoned the race under the general surprise; he would later say that he suffered from respiratory problems.
Green light for victory of Kevin Campion with the time of 18:59.46 that is currently the fifth world performance of the year over the distance after the 18:53.91 of Francesco Fortunato (ITA).
Second place went to Antonin Boyez in 19:45.47.
Third place went to the young Jean Blancheteau in 20:05.82; two weeks ago in Aubiere (FRA) he had been able to obtain the personal best on the distance in 19:40.11
Seventeen athletes at the start of which 16 have completed the race.
The only withdrawn was Yohann Diniz who takes not so bad giving a pat on the hand to the winner. Now he goes for the usual period in altitude at Font-Romeu in the Pyrenees.
The results of this month and in particular of this weekend have almost completely rewritten the world ranking of 50.000 track walk that we present below our readers with regard to the first 20 positions.
