Yesterday, the Ecuadorian Olympic Committee has designated as standard-bearer of the Ecuadorian delegation to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro the walker Andres Chocho.
Chocho is the current Pan-American champion of the 50km walk in Toronto 2015 and the holder of the South America reconrd in the 50km with the time of 3:42:57 obtained in Ciudad Juarez (MEX) on March 6, 2016.
Rio de Janeiro will be his third Olympics after those of Beijing 2008 and London 2012 and will compete in both the 20km and in the 50km.
Last year at the Beijing World Championships was finished eighth in the 50km in 3:46:00 while he was disqualified in 20km.
