03/07/2016   Castellon (ESP): Irene Montejo and Manuel Bermudez Spanish U20 Champions






Are underway in Castellon (ESP) the LXIII Spanish Junior Championships on track.

The two walking  races were held on the distance of 10,000m on track for both women (yesterday at 10:45) and men (today at 10:15).

At the start fifteen athletes.

 

The title of Junior Champion of Spain goes to Irene Montejo Garces de Marcilla, who had already been part of the Spanish team U20 Women in Rome2016, with a time of 52:23.03. On the Roman course the young Spanish had recorded an excellent 49:14.

 

Silver medal for Alicia Vazquez Gea in 53:02.78, being capable this year (May 28) in La Coruna of a good 49:35.

Bronze medal to Marina Sillero Mesonero in 55:50.09, approaching the 55.37 performance obtained in La Coruna on May 28, 2016. 

 

Fourth place to Angela Ruiz Teran (55:51.51) after a stop of 120" in the Pit Lane Area.

 

 

 

 

 

10,000m track walk men

 

Eight athletes at the start with all the forecast for Manuel Bermudez Jimenez, who in Rome last May 7 had achieved a brilliant second place in 40:27. The young Spanish a week after the exploit of Rome was reaffirmed on the same distance on the track in Murcia with an excellent 43:20.01.  

 

Manuel Bermudez Jimenez won in a time almost of training (46:20.01), but it was not so easy. He had received three red cards and we had to stop in the Pit Lane Area for 120".

 

Second place to Daniel Chamosa Dacasa in 46:34.36.

Third place went to Ivan Lopez Perez in 47:49.05.

 

Fourth place to Kevin Cerro Gudiño (49:04.11), even him after a stop of 120" in the Pit Lane Area.
