This year Marie Polli had already obtained in Lomello (ITA) on the 5km road in April, the time 25:03 and in Rome on the occasion of the IAAF World Race Walk Team Championships the performance 1:41:06 (77th place).
In the race on the new track of the Stade de la Saussaz, Chially in the second place arrived Corinne Henchoz in 59:03.2 (split time at 5.000m in 29:18.1).
Third place went to Millija Zinkovska in 1:03:47.3
In the men's race victory for Claude Berner in 1:02:33.5, in front of Claude Greber (1:02: 36.3) and Bernard Cossy (1: 05: 00.0).
