Rights were officially terminated Games 31 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. And so I want to share with my feelings, impressions and experiences from Brazil.
Impression of almost all sports events in which I participated, is affected by the result that I reached them. Therefore, after winning the title of Olympic champion of the Olympic Games I can not vote otherwise than beautiful, successful, friendly, wonderful.
You're all about capture critical information about the organization of the games. From almost alarmist about Zike, through threats of terrorism, crime, transport collapsing after complaints of participants for accommodation and food.
I am not saying that everything is invented, but those athletes who did not come to look for bugs, but enjoy most sports and especially the feast of submit its maximum possible performance, it addressed. The most essential of the performance, however, are sports. And here their role as organizers of 100%. All were prepared at a high level, great viewing scenery and atmosphere.
Our circuit was situated on a beautiful beach Pontal, completely contrasting opposite the famous Copacabana. Calm, as if you were not even in Rio, and yet only 15 minutes from the Olympic Village. Of course during the race, this quiet place transformed into a roaring stadium. I am pleased that the Slovaks in the hype lose, on the contrary, were among the most powerful stimulants, especially at the end, I felt that the contest somewhere in Slovakia.
The spectators were great and they drove me forward (also very noisy were groups from Canada, Australia, Japan - maybe that’s why first four places were from this countries). And especially in Rio it was necessary. It was one of the toughest races on 50k in my career. In hot and humid weather, there was not a shadow piece on the whole loop, it was a struggle. Fortunately, I was perfectly ready, I chose the right tactics.
The first of all I decided to ignore fast beginning of Yohann. I knew, that if he will be all right, it would be almost impossible to beat him, but if will something goes wrong, he will “wait” for us. Then I realised, that in that weather conditions it will be not about attacks, but about patience and hold out as long as possible in one pace. But honestly, when Jared attack before 40.km, I thought that we will fight no more just about silver. I didn’t feel bad, I hadn’t any energetic crisis, but I couldn’t accept his pace.
But we still fought for silver with Evan and Hirooki and when I saw (5k to go), that I had the most forces from our trio and I walked faster like Jarred I tried to push and let all my energy on the loop in Pontal.
I think, that I wasn’t the strongest walker on that day physically, but I won the race thanks to mental strength, rich experiences, great will and fantastic spectators.
I am leaving Rio with a good feeling. Brazilians have done the work to its limits. I can say that despite the small beauty mistake left the Olympics in Rio a good feeling and I will always love them and remembers with a smile.
