He was one who always walked, even in his work.

He was the coach of talents and champions like Michele Didoni and Gianni Perricelli.

And now almost eighty years old (79 years old) he will begin a new and amazing adventure, which fills him with joy.

 

Pietro Pastorini, for all the world of walking Pietro, threw himself headlong into this new opportunity "to live his beloved walk” by accepting the proposal from the Ethiopian Federation to set up a competitive team for the next Olympic Games in Tokyo.

 

And so after Sandro Damilano with China another of historians coaches of Italian walk emigrates to other shores, despite his venerable age, moved by an endless passion for race walk.

 

Ethiopia, at youth level, is an emerging nation. Just remember the bronze obtained in the women's race at the World Championships U18 in 2015 in Cali, and the same medal obtained this year, with another female athlete, at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz and the fourth place in the corresponding men's event.

 

But the Ethiopian Federation is not limited to ask Pietro Pastorini to perform the function of head coach and selector for race walk, but fixed also another important goal: to educate local coaches “in training race walk” and teaching them all the secrets of the specialty that has given so much to Italy.

 

Just resolved the final details relating to the contract Pietro Pastorini will leave to Ethiopia and will do the "commuter" between the African Country and Lomello, where he lives and where he will be back every fortnight.
