The National Sports Festival of Japan or Kokutai is the national premier sports event of that country. It consists of three stages - the

- skating and ice hockey stage takes place in January,

- the skiing stage takes place in February,

- and the main Autumn tournament, which includes T&F (with walk events), takes place in September and October.

10,000m track walk men

Victory of Eiki Takahashi in 38:21.88, in front of Daisuke Matsunaga in 38:40.22.

Third place to Kai Kobayashi in 38:49.18.

Nineteen athletes at the start of which 18 have completed the race and 1 DQ

5.000m track walk women

Victory of Kumiko Okada in 21:24.94, in front of Nanako Fujii in 22:14:52.

Third place to Mizuka Takayamai in 22:20:36.

Seventeen athletes at the start of which 14 have completed the race and 3 DQ

5.000m U19 track walk men

Victory of Riutaro Yamamoto in 19:56.66, in front of Masatora Kawanoi in 20:02:38.

Third place to Yu Takeuchi in 20: 11.91.

Twenty-one athletes at the start of which 19 have completed the race and 2 DQ
