14/10/2016   Asan (KOR): 97th edition of “Sports Festival”.






Asan, a city about 100km far from Seoul (South Korea), hosted last weekend the 97th edition of "Sports Festival".

The Sports Festival is a late-season in Korea which involves nearly 20,000 athletes in all sports (45 sports entities) in representation of the provincial structure of the Country.

Only to indicate the importance of the Sports Festival the opening ceremony was attended by the President of South Korea Park Geun-Hye.

 

Track and Field also includes race walking events, divided according the age in high school, in essence our Junior U20 (men and women) and Senior (men and women), while the other specialty of athletics have also a section University, in essence our U23 (men and women).

 

 

10km High School (U20) men

 

Good times and good technical level for the first two athletes.

Victory to Song Yunhaw (KOR) in 41:29, after a race head to head, in front of Kim Mingue (KOR) in 41:30.

In third place Lm Dongmin (KOR) in 42:29.

 

Fourteen athletes at the start and all have completed the race.

To note in addition to the fact that the first two broke the wall of 42’  also the fact that the third and fourth have obtained a time under 43': in other words a good U20 movement.

 

 

10km High School (U20) women

 

Vicory to Han Ha-Yeong (KOR) in 49:38 in front of Kim Leehyeon (KOR) in 49:56.

Third Jeon Dayoung (KOR) in 50:09

 

 

20km senior men

 

A discrete time for our old acquaintance Kim Hyunsub (KOR) to ensure victory in 1:24:55; in Rio de Janeiro he had won the 17th place in 1:21:44

Second place went to Choe Byeongkwang (KOR) in 1:25:29; in Rio de Janeiro he arrived 57th in 1:29:08.

Third place to Kim Nakhyun (KOR) in 1:25:56 who had the better of the third member of the Olympic Team Byun Younjun (1:26:42)

 

 

20km Senior women

 

Victory for Jeon Yeongeun (KOR) in 1:36:14 which improved slightly the result obtained in Rio de Janeiro (1:36.31) wit the 39th place.

Silver for Weon Seasbyeol (KOR) in 1:39:35 and bronze to Kim Minjt (KOR) in 1:42:32.
