The former Spanish walker Juan Manuel Molina received Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, the bronze medal of the Royal Order of Sport Merit, the highest sports award in Spain.
The Government of Spain through the Superior Council of Sports has offered such recognition to former walker who participated in the Olympic Games, who won medals at European and World Championships and is currently the president of the Athletics Federation of Murcia.
Molina was accompanied by Jose Antonio Carrillo, his old coach and now coach of Miguel Angel Lopez.
The ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Inigo Mendez de Vigo, with the presence of Minister of Justice Rafael Catala, and the president of the Superior Council of Sports, Miguel Cardenal.
