The historical panorama in race walk is completed with the Youth Olympic Games which saw their birth in 119th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) held in Guatemala City on July 6, 2007.
The Youth version of the Olympic Games is coming from an idea of Johann Rosenzopf who proposed it in 1998.
Several other events for youth like the European Youth Olympic Festival and the Australian Youth Olympic Festival have proven successful. The Youth Games are modeled after these sporting events.
Until now, two summer editions were held: the initial one in Singapore 2010 and that of Nanjing 2014.
The track and field sports scene also includes two walking events for the category of young (boys and girls) between 14 and 18 years.
The races are over a distance of 10.000m track walk for boys, and on the distance of 5.000m track walk for girls.
The edition of Nanjing 2014 is also known because it was the first time in a competition of international level was used the penalty system known as "Pit Lane".
Sandro Damilano also edited these reports in order to offer to our readers thus concluding all international historical panorama.
We will be happy to collaborate with those who could provide the tools to expand this panorama in other Continents if done.
