Race walking in Costa Rica is gradually growing. In the past Costa Rica has had the opportunity to present some solitary athletes in international competitions, the most knows of which is Allan Segura, who participated in the Olympic Games Beijing 2008 in the 20km finishing 39th in 1:27:10 and who has the personal best of 1:23:12 obtained in the World Cup in Cheboksary on May 10, 2008.
Now the perseverance to Maurizio Calvo and Allan Segura coach dedicated and some training in Mexico together with Bernardo Segura (MEX) will hopefully give new impetus to race walk in Costa Rica.
