21/01/2017   Padova (ITA): Victories of Alberto Zaupa and Valentina Trapletti






Women walk on the shields in Padova today on the occasion of the Indoor Open Championships of Veneto.

 

3.000m indoor walk women

 

Intense the participation in the women's category with 27 athletes at the start so that it iwas necessary to split the athletes into two timed sessions. Fourteen athletes at the start in the timed sessions of the strongest athletes.

 

Valentina Trapletti was obviously the favored and easily won the race.

What was not obvious was the time, saw the beginning of the season, despite strong Lombard athlete has a personal best of 12:35.55 established in Padua on Feb. 21, 2016.

This year Valentina Trapletti stop the clock in 13:09.00 that represents up today the second world performance of the indoor season year 2016/2017, second only to the time of 13:07.78 obtained by Clemence Beretta (FRA) in Vittel ( FRA) on Dec. 10, 2016.

These are her split times: 

m. 1000: 4:37.7 

m. 2000: 9:19.4

 

In second place arrived the team-mate of Trapletti, Sibilla Di Vincenzo, who raced in 13:39.07.

Third place to Gladys Moretti in 14:41.77.

 

Twentyfour athletes in the two series have completed the race, 1 DNF and 2 DQ

 

 

5.000m indoor walk men

 

Wins the title Alberto Zaupa in 21:54:19 time (better than 22:10.87 obtained on this same indoor track two weeks ago) and near his personal best obtained last year (21:43.94).
These are his split times: 

m. 1000: 4:15.6 

m. 2000: 9:19.4

m. 3000: 12:55.6

m. 4000: 17:26.5

 

Second place to Juriy Micheletti in 23:39.39

Third place to Michele Disarò in 24: 20:31
