Of the 10 athletes entered at the start there are in 7.
At 1,000m leads the race Andrea Agrusti (4:00:49) along with Gianluca Picchiottino and Alberto Zaupa.
Shortly before 3.000m comes off Alberto Zaupa and loses a few meters.
To 3.000m Andrea Agrusti leads (12:09.00) on Gianluca Picchiottino.
With seven laps to go lead Gianluca Picchiottino who cover 4.000m in 15:59.30.
Picchiottino force even the pace and wins with the beautiful new personal best of 19:45.50.
Second is Andrea Agrusti in 20: 12.15.
Bronze to Alberto Zaupa in 21:22.08. Wonderful race for him with the new personal best.
The performarnce of Picchiottino is currently the third world performance U23 of the indoor season 2016-2017 after that of Callum Wilkinson (GBR) obtained in Bratislava on Jan 29, 2017 (19:20.83) and Salih Korkmaz (TUR) obtained in Istanbul on Jan 14, 2017 (19:33.57).

Of the 11 athletes entered at the start there are in 10.
Immediately goes to lead Lidia Barcella.
Split time at 1,000m is 4:31.00 and she is followed by Eleonora Dominici, Nicole Colombi and Giada Francesca Ciabini.

Nicole Colombi catch the two leaders shortly after 2000.
Two laps from the end are two (Colombi and Dominci) to lead and Barcella came off a couple of meters.
At the bell they pass in 12:52 and they start a last round that will have incredible: Colombi inside the track and Dominici outside for all of Ancona oval.
Swoop into two upon the arrival: the photo finish will give the victory to Nicole Colombi in 13:40.80, after 2/100 arrives Eleonora Dominici in a very good race and redeeming the disqualification of Grosseto.

Of the 19 athletes entered at the start there are in 13.
Everyone in the group to 1.000m with Giacomo Brandi leading (4:35.4)
Shortly after goes to lead the pack Giuseppe Pantera.
At 2.000m leads Nicolas Fanelli in 9:09:36 but then he stopped in the Pit Lane area. On his return, when the group in front of him, unbelievably goes even leading the pack. He will be disqualified after a few laps.
At 3.000m leads is Giacomo Brandi in 13:44.22 followed by Diego Chirivì.
Incredibly also Giacomo Brandi is stopped in the Pit Lane area and so Diego Chirivì is leading the race.
His split time at 4.000m is 17:57.9
Second is Fabio Barattini and Luca Magistri follows.
After the decision of the jury, the situation seems to have been stabilized in particular for the fight for the medals.
Diego Chirivì wins hands raised, and a little of surprise: if time 22:23:47.
In 2016 as U18 in this same oval at the Italian Indoor Championships U18 on Feb. 13, 2016 he was happy to be finished 7th in 23:14.24, today almost a year after he won (first year in U20) and improves his PB of 50" and 77/100. A good start in 2017. After the race he said: "We left in front of the race the favorite, but the pace wasn't high. I then found myself alone: I would not have ever expected."
