06/02/2017   Ulsteinvik (NOR): victory of Merete Helgheim in Norwegian Championships






Weekend of Indoor Championships also in Northern Europe.

A Ulsteinvik in Norway in the functional Ulsteinhallen took place the Indoor Championships of Norway.

Indoor walk events were scheduled the first day, Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017.

 

Judging an old acquaintance of world race walk: Erling Andersen, Softeland (NOR).

 

 

3000m indoor women

 

Only four athletes at the start, but a good result.

 

Victory of Merete Helgheim (NOR) with a time of 13:42.62. She has a personal best of 13:30.26 achieved in Bergen (NOR) on Feb. 6, 2012.

This performance nevertheless is the Championships Indoor Record in Norway.

The Indoor Norwegian women's record is one of the longest in force, and belongs to one of the best known names in women's world walk, Kjersi Tysse-Platzer who established in Lievin (FRA) on Feb. 1, 2004 in 11:59:30.

 

Second place for Josefin Greiff (NOR) in 16:12.13

Third place went to Fride Moller Flatin (NOR) in 16:30.69

 

 

5.000m indoor men

 

Only one athlete at the start, Kristian Nedregard (NOR), who did not finish the race being DQed.
