Sunday, February 5 organized by Leevale Athletic Club was held a indoor competion (AAI Indoor Games) with a walk race on the distance of 3.000m male and female.

The particular occasion of this competition was the use of the new indoor sports facility of the National Sports Campus in Blanchardstown, Dublin.

3.000m indoor men

Victory to Alex Wright (IRL) in 11: 15.15.

With this result the Irish athlete is now currently the world seasonal leader both on the short distance of 3.000m and on the standard of 5000 by virtue of the result established in Bratislava on Jan. 29, 2017.

Obviously this performance is for him a new personal best (previous  of 11:19.33 established in Athone, IRL on Feb. 01, 2015).

Second place went to Brendan Boyce (IRL) in 11:28.61.

Even for him new personal best (previous  of 11:46.70 established in Athone, IRL on Feb. 01, 2015).

Third place to Cian McManamon (IRL) in 11:44:08.

Six athletes at the start and they all completed the race

3000m indoor women

Won Maggie O'Connor (IRL) in 15:43.54 who among other things was the only athlete at the start.
