The one just past was a busy weekend for indoor competitions.

In Ukraine in Kiev was held the traditional Ukrainian Cup.

The distances for walking events, however, were a bit different from the standard to which we are accustomed; women also competed on 5.000m.

5.000m indoor men

Victory Oleksiy Kazanin (UKR) in 19:37.68 (PB).

By this time the Ukrainian athlete, at the time, is in the 8th position in the world ranking of the year after the turkish Salih Korkmaz (19:33.57 - Istanbul, TUR, Jan. 14, 2017) and in front of the other Ukrainian Konstantin Puzanov (19:43.00 - Kiev, UKR, Jan. 09, 2017).

Second place to Ihor Sakharuk (UKR) in 20: 29.70

Third place to Oleksandr Venhlovskiy (UKR) in 20: 33.22

Seven athletes at the start, of which 6 have completed the race and 1 DQ

5.000m indoor women

Victory of Olena Mizernyuk (UKR) in 22:17.93

Second place to Yelena Shevchuk (UKR) in 22:31.55

Third place to Maria Filyuk (UKR) in 22:51.64

Seventeen athletes at the start, of which 16 have completed the race and 1 DQ.
