3.000m indoor women
There was no doubt about the victory of Antonella Palmisano, doubt was only on performance.
With the following split times to
- 1.000m .: 4:06.1
- 2.000m .: 8:07.6
the athlete coached by Patrizio Parcesepe won the Italian title in 12:08.83.
This time is now the world's best performance of the indoor season 2016/2017.
The second place also as expected went to Valentina Trapletti in 12:45.74
that preceded the teammate Sibilla Di Vincenzo (12:55.77).
Only these three athletes have broken down the wall of 13:00.00.
Twelve female athletes at the start of which 11 have completed the race and 1 DNF.

5.000m indoor men
Only six athletes with one of the candidates for a medal, Gianluca Picchiottino, which is not at the start.
The race immediately takes a clear appearance.
Immediately set the pace Francesco Fortunato followed by Vito Minei and Leonardo Dei Tos.
The split time of the trio is:
- 1.000m: 3:48.7
- 2.000m: 7:35.7
Shortly after Fortunato force the pace and resists only Vito Minei.
To 3.000m. the split time is 11:24.7.
Immediately after Fortunato force again the pace and at 4.000m is alone in 15:07.7
The victory is safe and Fortunato can allow himself to relax in the last 1,000m finshing in 18:59.06 his new personal best, but especially first time under the psychological wall of 19:00.00 obtained with a manual walk.
Nevertheless, this performance is the today the second world indoor result of the 2016/2017 season after Tom Bosworth time.
Second place to Vito Minei in 19:18:59 (new personal best).
Thirds place to Leonardo Dei Tos in 19:37.18.
All athletes have completed the race.
