Today in Minsk (BLR) took place the first day of an important meeting of eight nations at U20 level.
Participating in the meeting: Azerbaijan, Belorussia, Estonia, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey and Ukraine.
Today are scheduled both male and female races held over a distance of 5.000m indoor.
5.000m indoor women
Victory to Meryem Bekmez (TUR) in 22:53.58, without many difficulties for her having a personal best 22:05:38 established as Istanbul (TUR) on Jan. 14, 2017.
Second place went to the home athlete Anna Zubkova (BLR) in 24:38.92 that set new personal best (previous 25.10.7 established in Minsk on Dec. 20,2016) at her first experience in an international event
Third place for Austeja Kavaliauskaite (LTU) in 24:57.59 having an outdoor PB of 24:55.14 achieved in Alytus (LTU) on June 22, 2016.
5.000m indoor men
Victory to local hero Stanislav Kuzmich (BLR) in 20:55.13.
A week ago in Mogilov (BLR) was finished sixth in the Championships of Belarus on the distance of 10,000m indoor in 42:06:45 while his indoor personal best on 5.000m walk is 20:38.72 established in Minsk on Feb. 05,2016. Kuzmich is not very satisfied with his race.
Second place went to Abdulselam Imuk (TUR) in 21:03.68 (new personal best, previous of 21:30.37 established in Istanbul on Jan. 14, 2017)
Third place went to Dmytro Harnyk (UKR) in 22:18:15.
