The fight for victory probabli would be between local favorite Leo Kopp (GER), who in Berlin (GER) on Jan 21, 2017  established the second world performance of the 2016/2017 indoor season with the time of 20:24.48 ( of course personal best) and David Kuster (FRA) who in Metz (FRA) on Jan 15, 2017 established the third world performance of the 2016/2017 indoor season with the time of 20:29.23 (of course personal best).
 
The third accreditation time (21:45:98) belongs to Davide Finocchietti (ITA) still U18 (2001). The Italian athlete is constantly progressing, and we will see how will fight with the two stronger opponents.

The victory should therefore not escape to Teresa Zurek (GER) who in Berlin (GER) on Jan 21, 2017 established the second world performance of the 2016/2017 indoor season with the time of 13:13.89 (of course personal best).
The personal best of the main rivals in the women's race is far enough for Julia Richter (GER), second last week in Sindelfinger (GER) behind Zurek and Eloise Terrec (FRA).
