06/03/2017   Bragança Paulista (BRA): Caio Bonfim wins Brasil Caixa Cup






Bragança Paulista hosted this weekend the Brazilian Race Walk Cup, valid as selection for the upcoming Pan-American Cup which will be played on 13 and 14 May in Lima (PER).
 
The day was good, but with a cloudy sky. The races were held on a 1km on the course in  Avenida Alpheu Grimello in the Garden Nova Braganca, close to Lake Taboao.
 
The Brazil Race Walk Cup was attended by 82 athletes from 27 clubs in eight states and the Federal District. The organization was the Confederação Brasileira de Atletismo and sponsored by the Caixa Economica Federal with the support of the Municipality of Bragança Paulista.
 
 
 
50km men

 

Victory to Jose Alessandro Bagio in 4:17:55 who prefer compete in 50km since it had no chance of victory in 20km because of the presence of Caio Bonfim.

Second place to Claudio Richardson Vitoria Campelo dos Santos in 4:25:01

Third place to Rudney Dias Nogueira in 5:04:47

 

Only these three athletes finished the race. They were six at the start and three DQ.

 

 

50km women

 

First time of a women in Brasil in 50km !

Victory of Nair da Rosa in 5:13:48 and obviously is Brasilia record.

The athlete coached by Sergio Galdino is a former marathon runner who has decided to try the 50km.
The other athlete at the start was DQed.

 

 

20km women

 

Victory to Liliane Priscilla Barbosa in 1:51:37.

 

After the race the winner said she had slowed down in the second part of the race as she had already received two red cards and wanted to avoid the risk of receiving the third and then be disqualified, thus losing the opportunity to win and then to represent Brazil in the next Pan-American Cup.

Second place to Paula Raissa Paz da Silva in 1:52:41

Third place to Viviane Santana Lyra in 1:55:17

 

Thirteen athletes at the start: 7 hanno portato a termine la gara, 1 DNF e 3 DQ

 

Be noted that the withdrawal concerns Cisiane Dutra Lopes, who was looking for his seventh wictory. It felt ill during the race for the spoiled food. The same happened to Paula Raissa Paz da Silva, but she struggling to complete the race.

Victory to Tatiana de Morais Pereira in 1:00:11

Second place to Rebeca Benigna Fernandes in 1:00:45

Third place to Amelia Fortunato de Lemos in 1:00:24

 

Five athletes at the start; two were DQed

 

 

10Km U20 men

 

Victory to Murilo Coutinho Ribeiro da Silva in 48:49

Second place to Erison Gerson dos Santos da Silva in 52:58

Third plave to Edyeverson Lucas Pereira in 1:00:25

 

Seven athletes at the start; four were DQed

 

 

20km men

 

Is Caio Bonfim the main attraction of the Brazilian Race Walk Cup after the 4th place in 20km and 9th place in 50km in Rio de Janeiro.
 
Caio Bonfim was on his first race after Rio and he raced as a training session in preparation for Ciudad Juarez (MEX), slowing down to wait for his teammate Max Batista Goncalves dos Santos who then finished second.

In third place arrived Moacir Zimmermann in 1:37:04

The future of Caio Bonfim program provides well as Ciudad Juárez (March 12th), Rio Maior, Portugal (April 1), Taicang, China (April 15), the Pan American Cup in Lima in Peru (May 13), La Coruna, Spain (June 3), and finally a period in altitude in Sierra Nevada, Spain (between July and August, before the London World Championships).

Vctory to Garbiela de Sousa Muniz in 28:47

Nair da Rosa first Brasial women finishing a 50km
