Will be  Toshikazu Yamanishi (JPN) the star and the favorite in the men's race of the Asian Championships in the 20km road walk to be held next Sunday in Nomi (JPN)
 
The strong athlete of Japan recently (Feb.19, 2017) has improved his personal best taking it to 1:19:03 (previous 1:20:50 obtained in La Coruna on May. 28, 2016) will have as its main opponent Irfan Kolothum Thodi (IND) which has a personal best of 1:20:21 established in London on Aug. 4, 2012 during the competition of the Olympic Games.
 
Twenty-two entered in the men's race.
 
In the women's race the best performance is to Na Wang (CHN) capable of 1:28:21 (obtained in Nomi, JPN on March 20, 2016).
In Nomi she must face Kumiko Okada (JPN) with a personal best of 1:29:40 obtained in Kobe on Feb. 21, 2016.
The race for the victory in the Asian women Championships should be on a much more interesting level of the corresponding men's race.
