11/04/2017   Russia - Sergey Shirobokov and Yana Smerdova are eligible for international competitions






Today the IAAF Doping Review Board, composed of Robert Hersh (USA), Sylvia Barlag (NED) e Antti Pihlakoski (FIN), has agreed that the applications of seven Russians have met the exceptional eligibility criteria to compete in international competition as neutral athletes under competition Rule 22.1A(b) while the Russian national federation (RusAF) remains suspended.

 

Among the seven athletes are allowed two walkers and they are:

 

Sergey Shirobokov (1999) in 2015 who won in Cali (COL) the World Youth Championship

Yana Smerdova (1988)

 
The participation in international competitions will take place as a neutral athletes.

This decision immediately rewrites the 20km of the European list in preview of the next European Cup, where the Russian Federation decided to enter their athletes.
 
 
In fact Sergey Shirobokov with the result obtained at the Winter Russian Championships in Sochi becomes the current European leader.
